Chinchilla fur loss

[Cheeky Chinchillas]

One of my two chins , Chico has been losing more fur than is usual. I found clumps of it around his cage and it's worrying me, he hasn't been distressed as far as I'm concerned, no barking, he's friendly with me. Should I take him to the vets? It's hard to take a picture of it, he's not very helpful.

Are your chins together? They could be fighting. That looks like a very large fur slip- bickering chins chase each other, and usually the one being chased will either slip a large amount of fur in response or the aggressor will actually rip the fur out. I would separate ASAP and see if improves.
