Hello! I was trying to find information on what to do in this situation, but I couldn't find anything so I was wondering if you guys could help me! Two of my chins, who are cagemates, were out of cage playing, when one of my chins got aggressive and bit my other chinchillas face. It pulled out fur and there is a small line where the wound was bleeding. I got a paper towel with some salt water and wiped off the blood. The wound stopped bleeding by the time I had caught the injured chin. This is very unlike the chins to play aggressively and I put them back in the cage together and they were fine. Is there more steps to take to watch the wound or treat it? And is this aggression something that will require separation? Thank you so much for your help!

My rule is when blood is drawn, they're separated permanently. If the wound is minor, just keep an eye on it for any signs of infection. If it begins to look red, swollen, or have discharge, I'd make an appointment with a vet. Additionally you can use something called Blu-Kote to put on the wound as an antiseptic.
