Chin Spin!

I am so excited!! I had a successful yardsale with my parents yesterday. My goal was to make some extra $$ to get Kunya a chin spin and I did it!! I made the cost of the wheel, plus some extra so he is getting some apple twigs too! I ordered him a 15" Chin Spin today from Quality Cage Co. I think he will love it!! :dance3:

My boys absolutely love their Chin Spin and I'm sure your chin will too. I had money aside for my boy Zeke's (housed alone) Chin Spin and then he got sick and I took him to a vet who ended up knowing very little about chinchillas and I ended up spending $165. Zeke will have to wait until next month to get his Chin Spin I'm afraid but it's definitely next on my priority list.

Carol~Anne, I hope Zeke feels better soon! I know what you mean...I have been saving my money for emergency vet visits, so I didn't want to dip-in to that for a wheel. But the yard sale was good idea, so I got some stuff together and made a go of it!

^^ Thanks, Zeke has made a full recovery and is running around wild and crazy and he's the fastest of all my boys. I have the others trained to head back to their cages when I shake the oat container but not Zeke. Every night the chase is on and last night I had to ask my husband to come and help me round him up b/c I was going in circles trying to catch him. I think he thinks it's a fun game now, lol.

When I ordered a Chin Spin from Quality Cage Co. it arrived all the way up here in two days. I was so surprised it came so quickly.

I am glad Zeke is better, Carol~Anne! I am getting mine on the 1st....not too far away! Maybe UPS will get it here faster <crossing my fingers>

Congrats on getting a chin spin! I believe it was the best thing I bought for Tink. She uses it everyday, several times a day. Just remember that some chins figure it out quickly, like mine did, and I've heard stories of some chins ignoring theirs for some time before finally getting on it. Hopefully your chin gets on it right away because I'm sure he will love it.

Update:

So I got Kunya's Chin Spin yesterday....the thing is HUGE! When I placed it in his cage, he immediately came to the first level to examine his new toy. He was a little afraid at first since it moved, but last night he was sitting in the wheel. This morning when I came downstairs, I saw him take quick lap or two in the wheel. He must have mastered it after I went to bed, so I was very excited to see he was using it. :dance3:

Haha, yeah my boys are addicted to their chin spin, it's really hard for them to share it sometimes but I can't fit 2 chin spins in there. I'm sure you are a happy mommy!

He seems to be getting better at running in the wheel and he really seems to enjoy it! He's secretive though...if I hear him running in it, I go to see and he stops. He's probably telling me he wants privacy while he's exercising!
