First off, hello! I'm always around but I rarely post, so I just thought I'd mention it while I'm making a thread for once.. haha.

I am thinking about getting my furkids a Chin Spin. One thing I'm not sure about is how I would attach it to a melamine cage. I am pretty sure it is attached by wing nuts, right? So I'm assuming you just get different screws and forget about the wing nut, but what kind? Do I just go to a hardware store and get my own or is this something that I could mention to QC when I am purchasing the wheel and they could give me the correct hardware right off the bat? I'd assume not but just thought I'd ask before I put my order in.

Also, any tips for drilling in to melamine would be appreciated. In all the years I have had the cage I have never wanted to put holes in it ("just in case" I decide I don't want that here, or this there..), so if there are any things I need to not do, feel free to let me know.
Thanks! :]

You can try calling QC, their customer service is pretty good so I'm sure they can help you out.

I have done this before, it's not too hard. First off, if you are just now buying one, you can ask Linda for longer bolts to go through your melamine. If you already have the wheel, take one of the bolts to the hardware store and tell them you need the same size about an inch longer.

What I did was took the whole X back off the wheel, and held it up against the melamine where I wanted to mount the wheel, and then I used a pencil to mark where I needed to drill the holes. Then I drilled, and then put the wheel back together and popped it right through my holes.

It attaches with bolts, washers and wing nuts. Once you shove the bolts through the holes in the melamine, you put the washers and wing nuts on from the back.

PM me if you have any questions!

Well that sounds easy enough! I may go ahead and see if they could send me some of the longer bolts then- I've never ordered from them, so I had no idea whether or not they would even be willing to possibly help me out on that.
If that doesn't work out then I will also keep U-bolts in mind if we end up needing to make a trip to the hardware store.
Thank you very much for the help everyone! I already can't wait for them to get their new wheel. :]
