Chin sitter needed in Riverside CA

My name is Ashley. I have a male chinchilla who is about a year old and am currently in the Riverside, California area. I have only had him since January and have never had to leave him for an extended period of time. However, I am leaving for a little more than a week in July and taking him with me won't be an option. I don't want to leave him at home for long unattended and don't know anyone in my neighborhood who I would trust to come and look in on him. I've tried contacting vets and pet hotels but no one seems able to take a chinchilla. Does anyone know of someone in the area who would be able to watch after my little one for a week? Thank you for any advice you might be able to give.

I don't know anything about your area,but my vet will board chinchillas for $9.00 a day.
You might want to ask your vet if they board exotic animals or if they know of a good pet sitter.

I would but I'm about three hours from you so it's not really the best idea. You could message Linda (chunkychins is her username). She's in Corona and may be able to help or know someone in the area willing to help.

I can chin sit in the months that are not hot. I do not have a room to quarantine animals in the summer time.

Cuddlebug is in Riverside-she is a breeder and does rescue. Worth a try to see of she will board. She is a member here.

Thanks, cuddlebug chins is actually who suggested I post here. I've tried calling vets around town and cant seem to find one that will keep him for a week.

Yes, I did. I've been thinking and I think I can free up a cage so that I can watch your little one. I've got a couple of options to make room. So, I think this will work. PM or email me and we can talk about the details.

If you don't find someone let me know. I can probably help you out. I live in Azusa, so west of you in Riverside. Google maps says its like 45 min. I have 6 myself so I have to keep the place cool anyhow. I have an empty cage ( i was going to sell it) in the living room. It would need some shelves though or something or if you have a cage for your chin to come with. I'm not a boarding place or rescue or anything but let me know. Or did you want to leave him at home and have someone go check on him?
