My male Chin is over 1 year old now. Him and I have bonded quite well and within the last couple of days I have noticed he has become a little more lethargic. He still eats and drinks, but it seems like he is a little depressed.
Currently, he is seperated from his old cagemate and their kit because I was mistakenly sold a female with my male. I have also begun a new job and have been sick for the last 3 weeks, so I have not been able to give him the attention he requires.
I am wondering if his lethargic-ness is related to his social needs not being met. He will still eat, take treats, drink water, and roll around in his dust bath. He had tons of fun running around the kitchen while his cage was being cleaned last night. I get him back into his cage and he seems to get back to being depressed and moves a bit, but his same luster and energy seems to be lost.
I have him scheduled to get neutered, so he can go back with his cagemates, but should I worry too much about further problems? I am beginning to get better, so i am going to try and hang out with him a little more in hopes he perks up. Is there any other insight or advice you guys have?
