What kinds of things can I do to chin proof the room they will be in and have play time in? I live in an apartment, so I don't exactly want the walls to have chew marks. I can have holes in the wall, if I need to nail something to the wall. I've thought about lining fiberglass all around the walls... just having it go up about a foot or two all the way around the base. Or maybe getting some kind of wire metal (like chicken wire except smaller spacing) and put that around the wall. I haven't figured out what to do. I also have my computer desk (which I know I can buy cord covers for the cords). I will probably try to make that area somehow inaccessible during playtime. I also have a small bookcase that matches the desk, and I will try the same thing. The only other thing will be a metal shelving unit which I will make the first row higher than it is now. It has my "stockpile" of household items (with toilet paper/paper towels on the first row. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Charlie and I are using the bathroom until the chin I get on Sunday is finished with his quarantine. He doesn't bother with his toys during playtime, just walks around looking for places to chew on my walls. Well, time for some playtime... any advice is greatly appreciated!!

I agree with the cardboard along the walls, high enough that when he stands on his hind feet, the wall is protected from any chewing. My chin, when she had the opportunity, took paint off the wall around 6-10 inches from the floor...You also have to think about the floor. My chin has also pulled carpet fibers from the floor. Do you mind cleaning the possible urine from the floor? Accidents do happen. Like you said, make sure any cords are out of his reach. Basically get down and crawl around and try to see things from your chin's perspective.

I have 2 playpens attached together to provide a larger play area, but that confines and protects my walls, etc. I have plastic mats under the pen so she can't destroy the carpet.

I use cardboard file boxes to line the walls. They are fairly inexpensive and when cut up and spread out, cover a good area. It isn't pretty but is very functional.

I like this idea. What kind of playpens do you use?

i still have issues with mine. They will eat the paint off the walls. (horribly maintained palce). I tried covering them with cardboard, but they jsut tore up and ate the cardboard untill the could reach the wall. ><

If i ever get the money i was thinking about getting some long peices of fleece and attaching them to the walls. As long as the peices stay up and theirs no access from the bottem it might work.. Tho i have to find a way to attach it to the walls that will be chin safe...
