Hello, it's me again: the owner with a lot of questions.
My chin, Habi, has been acting overly cautious since last night when he was having his regular free time. No change in his environment has been made, he's still eating, running around and going potty the same amount, but he is approaching things (including his dust bath) with a lot of hesitance, like he's afraid of something. He also is afraid of getting on his shelf in his cage. Is there any known cause of this behavior and any way to help him calm down?
I let him run around just now so he would see that there's nothing scary and he calmed down while he was out eventually, but he was then being cautious of his cage, especially the shelf. He won't even go on it.
He's the only chin and he gets my bedroom to himself with no other people or pets bothering him, so I don't understand this sudden fear.
Please help if you can! Thanks.
