Hi, recently I changed the wheel to an aluminum 15 inch wheel that has plenty of room to run in, but my chinchilla refuses to use it, and he used to use my old one like crazy, but it broke way to easily. Should I give him more time with it? Or just buy a new one that he used to like?

I think you should give your chin some more time with his new wheel, you said you just changed it so he could still be getting used to it. If it's a big change from his old wheel, it might take him a little longer because he's not used to it. But once he realizes he can run on it, I'm sure he'll be on it all night!

Was this one of those oil pan wheels with the lazy susan bearings? If so alot of chins will refuse to use them.

I bet you had the Silent Spinners before, right? I had those in the beginning and Sally broke THREE of them before I found "real" chinchilla wheels on the internet.
The aluminum wheel sounds like one of those noisy wheels you can get for about $20. Mine would never use those either.
Look at it this way, at $15 each for the crappy plastic ones that break and are too small, you have probably already spent WAY more in replacing them than you would have to spend to just go ahead and get a decent wheel.
Chin Spins last forever!! And if you want something nice and a little less expensive, get a Grape Escape. I promise your chin will love either of those.
