My baby boy Phillip had to be euthanized this morning, after showing no improvement overnight. I'm not sure what he had, but the vet thought it might be pneumonia.

He was housed with my boy, Terrance. Terrance shows no signs of illness, but I was not sure if I should disinfect the cage or not, as well as his toys? If so, how would I go about it?

I have girls who were housed in the same room as well, but they do not seem to be showing any signs of illness as well.

Thanks for any information :)

for extra precaution, i would sanitize everything in all your cages, in case it was an airborne disease that Phillip had. bleach and water mix, scrub, rinse really well, and set everything out in the sun to dry. wood shelves i personally would just replace, as well as hanging toys and anything else that is not able to be bleached.

give Terrance extra love and attention. he is sure to be missing his cagemate and extra loving on your part will help him through this time.

sorry to hear about Phillip, big hugs!
