Well i cant seem to find where my chin is peeing so how am i supposed to clean it? How often do they pee?

Chins pee quite often. If you have a large cage and your chin is peeing in several spots, it would be harder to find where they are peeing. You could try removing the litter and placing paper towels on the bottom of the cage. This could help you figure out where to clean. Then you can put the regular litter back in the cage and try cleaning the spots that you found with the help of the paper towels.

Make sure your water bottle is working and clean with fresh water and a proper height, the nozzle should be about 6-8 inches above where the chin will stand to drink. Mark the level of the water with tape or a pen to see how much she's drinking. My girl refused to drink from a bowl. If the bottle is old and icky looking buy a new glass one, they are easier to keep clean.

Yes be sure the water bottle is working properly. I had too small of a water bottle the first day, their water bottles are pretty big, be sure the one you have isn't for mice or hamsters or they may not be able to get water out.

i feel so guilty about this but one time I got Binkie a new water bottle. And I since they don't drink all that much during a day anyway I didn't notice he didn't drink any. The next day when I let him play he bee-lined for my little betta tank and stuck his face in there before I could grab him. And I had no idea why he was doing that so I put him back in his cage as sort of a time out. When I let him out again he did it again. That's when I realized he was so thirsty. Of course I got him a different bottle and gave him a bowl of water right then. Thought I'd share cuz well...it was strangely cute even though I feel pretty awful that he was without water for a day.

ewwwww fishy water, he must have been pretty desperate to drink that. Don't feel bad, that kind of thing happens, no one is perfect we all make mistakes, just be happy you found out before it was too late.

The owner i got my chin from said that he pees in this one corner. Because hes in a new enviorment i dont no if that will change. If i put the paper towels on the bottom of the cage wont he eat it? My chin tends to move his bedding alot and i find that by the time i clean his whole cage, it looks like half of it is gone :err:

the best and safest way to find out where your chin pees is to buy some white polar fleece, and lay it on the cage floor. it'll look disgusting after it's been in there a day or two, but you'll know where your chin is peeing! lol.

Thank you! Can i get fleece at a fabric store? Theres one sorta near me.

yep, i think all fabric stores carry fleece. you want to get anti pill fleece, which is also called polar fleece or blizzard fleece.

Okay. Will it say that its anti pill or polar? Or should i ask somebody

all three of those fleece type names are used interchangeably to describe the fleece we use in chin cages. just ask the clerk where the polar fleece is. i would get enough white fleece to make a double layer in the cage bottom, and pick up some other fleece in colours you like so that you can swap the liner out every couple to few days once it is peed on. i have three liners for one of my cages and do fleece laundry once a week.

So let the fleece in for about two days and change it out? That sounds better then keeping up buying bedding x_x the store i go to its 15 dollars for a big thing of bedding and six for a small one that wont even last a week! D:

yep. every couple days for liner changing should be good. my Rhino is a fleece peeing chin, even though he also has a corner litter pan. I change out his liner every couple days, three days if Rhino actually uses his litter pan to pee in sometimes.

Should i put in alittle pan for him because it does seem like he uses one corner. i cleaned out his cage tonight and you can see the stains from where apparently his other owner "Cleaned" his cage. when i clean the bedding seems to stick and be stiff more in that area like it was peed on. What kind of pan or box should i put there? Something safe.

A lot of people use glass casserole dishes. When I was trying to potty train my chins, I would use metal pans, like for baking. Anything that's not easily chewable could be used - no plastic.

I would put the pan in that corner where you said the bedding seems to be more wet and used. Actually, I would put that pan in the corner, with fresh bedding, but I would also put some of the wet bedding in there as well, so the chin gets the idea, hey, this is where I'm supposed to go.
