Can someone make a guide on how to tile a cage?

I have an FN cage and I want to tile the levels of the cages and the wooden ledges as well. I'm not a DIY person..so I really need help. I hear people glue tile onto a plywood board then grout it? Can anyone make a guide on how to do this? Specific directions would be nice . Thanks in advance,
