Can a cage have to many perches?

I have two chinchilla townhomes. One for my boys and one for my girls. I have between 6-8 perches in each cage. I have wooden perches and several lava ledges. Each cage only has two shelves in it, and the perches are spread out on all sides of the cage. My chins use all of their perches, although the favorites seem to be closest to the front of the cage when I'm in my room. They like to stare and beg.

I just wasn't sure if I overdid it or not?

As long as they still have room to play around without running into a perch, I think its sounds just fine. You said that they use all the perches, I take that as a sign that they are happy with them!
