So i've decided to expand gizmos cage. He is a ''tripod' so his cages are more longer than high due to a stressed out worried mommy afraid of him falling! lol . He has one very large cage attached to another medium sized cage by a large tube he goes through. He has plenty of room, but ive decided to spoil him more and add a ferret cage to his already cages, to give him even more room! With the two previous cages, i had to attach pvc tube by cutting the wires (well its hard to explain lol but it worked great). With this new cage, I do not want to cut the wires because its so nice (and if down the road i want to sell it, etc. i could not do that). A friend of mine is a contractor, and came up with an idea. He wants to remove the one panel of the cage and replace it with plexiglass. He is going to cut holes all through the sides of the plexiglass so it can be strapped on the the cage, we'll use the tube idea as before. This way the one panel of the cage wil not be destroyed by cutting it. Has anyone ever done anything liek this before? I was told that plexiglass was not safe, but I do not see how. Someone told me it'd raise the humidity in the cage? But I think they meant making the whole cage out of plexiglass? not just one panel of the entire cage? Any suggestions?
