hi everybody since I broke with fiaspice my loyal friend mister Boing have a new home, june 15th i probably move in large a 1 piece appartement. chilling all my home all year long cause me some small technicals problems. so I had an Idea If i buila a kind of structure over his cage like a refrigerator using an A/C and plexiglass i supose it can be ok. someone alrady have do something like this?

I need your feedbakc and recomendations if my idea is generally aprobated i will send sectch of my 'chin cooling system'

Can you not put an A/C unit in the window of the room that the chinchilla would be in? That may be easier than building something. You may end up keeping the chinchilla too cool if the refrigeration system you have designed blows right into the chinchilla cage.

The idea of building a structure over your chinchilla's cage and adding a/c scares me. It would not allow enough ventilation and the build up of other exhaust fumes could be lethal. I think your best bet would be a free standing a/c unit and just a/c one room with your chinchilla in it.

I think he's saying he's going to be in a studio apartment (i.e., it will be one large room), which could get difficult or expensive to cool. I suppose it depends on the design of the structure. It would seem to me that this might be difficult to achieve.

I probably move in a large size studio in 3 week and living at 19 degres all year long is a bit hard for me, it is a bit too cool.

i understand your advise air must circulate, but direct airflow is nocive for chins. put Boing in a closet and cooling it is prety similar to what i want to do .

i attach a small draft of what it can look like

the ac system willl be electronicaly switched by a temperature system. during the sumer i will cool all my studio during the rest of the year, i will use outside air with a ventilation system switched to ajust the interior temperature of boing home

isn't a refregirator... i would use a custom made plexyglass and melamine case for puting my current cage in it and cooling it. I would use an electronic thermostat for contrling the temperature inside and switching on and off my a\c unit just for not overcooling or having an too much important air flow
