Hi Everyone!

I was curious to know if anyone has ever used Nolvasan to clean their cage pans?

It's a veterinary disinfectant that leaves no fumes, they use it to clean an animal or the materials used during a surgery, etc. You spray it on and it sits for 15-20 then you rinse it off and it's 100% disinfected! It kills EVERYTHING!!

Thoughts?

Thank you!!

I would stear clear of this one. You have to wear long sleeves and rubber gloves. It is only used for 'misting' during surgery at a vet.

I wouldnt use it. Probably best to sick with vinegar and water solution. Its not harmful to your pet if its not dry. You also have to use it in a well ventilated area and wear a respirator if it hasnt dried/disapperated.

I've been using it to disinfect my reptile tanks for about a year and a half now.. The breeder sells it diluted for cleaning and disinfecting tanks, etc. I've been using it for quite some time! Perhaps it's time for a new solution... thank you so much for the link! =]

Kara (Mistywaterwoman, I believe is her name on this forum) introduced me to Melaleuca, they have a line of all-natural safe cleaners (well, they actually make all sorts of things) I was able to buy a bottle of Tough and Tender and Sol-U-Guard through her. It's super concentrated so it'll last you quite a while.

It's a very powerful cleaner, that disinfects (I believe Sol-U-Guard, when mixed according to their directions, is basically hospital strength disinfectant) But, since it's made from stuff like thyme oil, it's perfectly safe to use around kids and animals! It also smells great! (much better than the Trifectant that we use at the vets office I work at!)

Just something to consider if you're looking for safe, all natural products to clean with. :) There are also brands like Seventh Generation, sold at most stores, that are also safe and natural.
