Bumps on the ears

What could be the cause of bumps on the ears? No other symptons. The chin is in a cage by himself.

I have a chin whose ears were chewed on by his mother when he was a kit. He has multiple bumps on his ears, I'm guessing it's old bite marks from mom.

The bumps are normally made from scar tissue (sometimes they could be small abscesses). Chinchillas have very fragile ears and they can so easily get a small cut here or there. To make it worse the ears heal badly, they seem to heal with a much larger scar from a much smaller cut. The chins can snag them in the cage, have a small bite from another chin at sometime or just seem to end up with these little bumps out of the blue. They aren't harmful and are very common, so there's nothing to really worry about with them.
