We're building a custom house for our chins, and I was curious to know if dowel rods were chin safe. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about actual rods or just the pins? I've not used the rods, but I have used the pins in many, many of my houses.

A wooden dowel, I am assuming. Those should be safe. The dowel pins are safe, too. Most of the time when I make houses I just glue them together...Elmer's glue is surprisingly strong.

The wooden dowels are safe, they're normally made out of pine. At least, that's what Keith told me... We've got one in the boys' cage to attach toys to.
