While shopping at home depot for wood and supplies, I saw some stuff that gave me a good idea. Wooden bridges with railings! Consider that I have most of the tools or I can just get some from the guys if I don't have the exact one.
Here's my idea: On the top cage of the fn I can build shelves on the shorter ends and the bridge will run between each shelf. Now for the chins to get to the shelves (not like the jumping beans of mine need help) I'll set up ledges to mimic a staircase. As for the bridge I haven't decide how to design it yet, but I can't wait. I'm thinking the bridges will be about 6 inches wide, with a straight or round bar over it, so no sharp edges. Super excited to do this within 2 weeks. Now my chins are not too big of a fan for wobbly items, I'm thinking about having just a flat board for the base of the board and use metal brackets to connect the bridge to the shelves unless someone has a better idea. I thought about doing the wire through the bars, but won't that wobble. Ledges already done and it's drying, blue for the boys and pink for the girls.

Hope to get some ideas from people on this. I finally borrowed all of the equipment to make this. This is going to be for the top part of a fn 142. on the shorter sides will be a long shelf with a 5 3/4 inch with and running through will be the bridge I'm making. To avoid any gaps and holes I'm going to use a metal bar to secure the bridge to the shelves. Bridge will be a flat surface and the railing is more of a curved railing (not looking forward to bend wood though). Between the railing I will have bars going through it (bars can be replaceable due to crazy beavers going at wood). Any extra ideas anyone can give me?
