Hi everyone,
I was wondering is it ok to give chinchillas brown paper lunch bags? I heard of people who fill the bags with hay and treats, and let their chinchilla shred the bag and eat the "treasure" inside (i.e. the hay, treats, etc.) I thought it would be a fun and cheap chin toy. So, my question is, are the brown paper bags safe for the chins? Has anybody else tried this with their chins before?

Iuse them on occassion with no problems, but my chinnie boys just tear open the bags and eat whats in it.I would be hesistant to use them if they tried to each much of the bag.

I have used them. My guys usually don't touch them unless I tear a small hole in them so they can smell the treats. None of mine eat the bags at all but do enjoy trying to get the goodies out of them.

I use them all the time with the chins, they like to throw them around. They're great for putting hay inside or to use as a toy with some chins. Larger bags can be shaped into houses for chins to crawl inside...they have to be thrown away after a day or so because they get urinated on and destroyed.
