So today my boys were out for playtime and fatboy "mounted" Harley and it looked like he was trying to .... You know. I know dogs do that sometimes to show dominance, do chins do that as well? Harley barked at him and jumped away.

Yes, male chins are known to show dominance behavior toward other males. Sometimes it can be as you observed and end with little to nothing happening. Do keep an eye on the dominance behavior, though. Chins who are bonded and have been caged together can still end up fighting.

Yup, when I first got my two chin boys, one was 10 months old and the other was a little over 2 months old and the older one would try to mount the younger one evry now and then and now the younger one is doing it. So, yes it's normal as long as it doesn't turn into a fight.

Let's not hope Harly deceides "Not in this lifetime!" That's how nasty fights start!!

Well, fatboy didn't push it and Harley just jumped away. So far, the haven't fought at all. They do get irritated with eachother sometimes, but I've noticed they really try to respect eachothers space and they are really protective over eachother. Usually when they start bickering at eachother I go to their cage and start talking to them and giving them loves and they end up turning their annoyance toward me and protecting eachother. They do need a bigger cage though. I'm going to look at one tomorrow.

I am actually having a similar issue with my 2 chins. They are female though, and surprisingly my 4 year old which is passive does not ever dominate, but the 2 month old tries to mount her and she doesn't get angry just moves. Is it normal for females, and yes I'm sure they are both female.

Thanks!
