I want to try and make a bridge for my chin! I heard you make wood colorful with kool aid. How long should I leave it in the kool aid for it to be colorful? Also what do you use to attach the bridge to the shelves? And where do you find like small wood beads that I could put in between the wood parts of the bridge? Thanks :)

Hello!
I have just made a bridge for my two boys. I reccomend that you do not use kool aid. I have tried this and it doesn't work very well.
You can go to any grocery store and get food coloring and this works a lot better. Just make sure you wear gloves or else it will stain your fingers!! You just paint the food coloring right onto the little wood beads.

For the wood beads, I got mine at JoAnn's Fabric Store. Or any craft store should have them!

Good luck on the bridge! :)

You can also find things @ PionusParrots, (see link for blu's toys) on the website. She's really fast to ship too. I've done business with both, and would recommend either one. :)

I tried koolaid...it was ok but it took a while to soak (bout 24 hours) and still wasn't as bright as I wanted. Just make it super concentrated, I only put enough water in to make it deep enough for what i was soaking (pine blocks). Then bake it after to dry it.
