Brand New Chin owner in TX

Hey All!! I am sooooo excited to own my first Chin! I have always wanted one since I was a little girl, but never had the chance. Raised almost everything but a Chin! I adopted her last Friday from HSPCA and I am already having soooo much fun with her! She makes me laugh and she keeps wanting to jump higher and higher! I know I read you are suppossed to leave her in her cage for like two weeks, but I couldn't wait. Plus I think she is totally fine, seeing how she crawls all over me and perches on my head or shoulder when I sit on the ground. I would like to upgrade her cage though someday soon, but I am waiting to see if I am moving out of state for a job, before I purchase a nice one. I don't believe the "good" one collapse or fold up for travel I look forward to chatting with everyone and learning so much!

Welcome. I'm new here too. I started with my first chin (a pink & white named Wilson) in September. 1 quickly turned into 8!! lol I just love them. They all have different personalities.
I also started with a cage I thought was good-sized. That led to an even bigger cage. And now I have 2 Ferret Nations! Wish I'd just have spent the money on those first!
I've learned a lot here already. Lots of great info!

Ok well I am not sure how to add the picture next to my name, but I added some into an album. Can any one point me in the right direction for this one?? Thank you! And I believe she is an Ebony color? is this right?

I was looking at ferret nations and similar cages, but like I said before I amy be moving, so I didn't want to purchase the cage and then not be able to transport it easily. I can't wait till I upgrade her cage. She LOVES exploring the house, of course under my supervision ALL the time, and after I have Chin proofed it and shut off all possible safety hazards!

Your pretty girl is called a black velvet, not ebony. If she were an ebony, her belly would be the same color as her back- black all around. )
