Hey guys!
I finally moved Pudge into the bottom half of Banilly's FN!!! She completed her quarantine a couple weeks ago but we've been really busy and we didn't want to rush her. I think she really likes it! She's still getting used to it, of course, but it's soo much bigger than her old cage so I'm really happy.
The only thing I'm a little bugges about is that we didn't put her wheel in the new cage.
It's one of these:

The old owner gave it to us in her cage when we got Pudge. We know that they are a hazard cause of the wire and size, but we were worried taking it out would be too much of a change and would stress her out. We also soon discovered that she LOVED running on it and did it all the time. We thought not putting it into the new cage would be appropriate since the new one has more room for her to jump around, but I'm worried she's sad without it. I've been dying to get a good quality wheel for her, but I just don't have the money right now (just had to pay a big vet bill for the dog.)

Anyway, here are a couple pictures of the new cage with both of them! They're still separated, since I haven't had a chance to work on intros. HOWEVER, the other night when I was putting Banilly back into her cage after playtime, I held her near Pudges cage and they sniffed each other and touched noses for a while :)) It looked like they were giving little kisses! I'm so excited to finally introduce them soon! I'm thinking this weekend, I will put Banilly in her carrier (since I feel like she would be the most likely to be dominant) in the bathroom and let Pudge run around nearby so that they can be more familiar with each other.

Sorry these pictures are kinda crappy. They're from my phone. I have some on my real camera, but I'm at work right now so I'll add them later.

^ this was Pudge's old cage. Very... horizontal. Lots of plastic. Also note that this a rabbit cage.

Side-view!!! Pudge's fleece is Kimono Hello Kitty I made it all myself! Well, with the help of my mommy... her shelf cover and hammock are the first fleece items I ever made! I'm super excited about that

...on a related note.... LOOK how cute this picture of Banilly is: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...82034442156_1570800125_30936722_2651439_n.jpg

I bet she loves the new home! FNs are so much roomier. Load it up with some more wooden ledges and a fleece tube and she will be in heaven! I'm so glad you didn't put that wheel in her cage. I had a chin break his leg with that same wheel. NOT worth it.
I remember seeing her on craigslist. I'm glad you got her :D

Better a chinny upset over not having a wheel, then having a chinny stressed over a broken leg or foot! Load that baby up with some ledges, a tube, a few more hammocks and maybe a chin spin and let her go! ;)

Thanks guys! I'm glad you agree with me about the wheel :))
I cannot wait to put more shelves in. I already put in one ledge from Pudge's old cage in and she sits on it all day, watching out the window. She's such a cutie. Today I got home from work and they were both in their hammocks at the same time. It was super adorable.

You can get the metal feeders at PetSmart in the bird aisle, or metal bin feeders in the small animal aisle. You can also check with your local feed stores.

I ordered mine from Carise at chincessories. I've seen lots of other online stores have them.

I think they're pretty common, because I've seen them used at most animal shelters for cat cages.

how exciting to have them both so close! hopefully they can be friends!

great set up. hopefully you can get a chin spin soon. gizmo loves the plastic wheel we got him a year ago, but id rather be safe than sorry. if you browse this forum, you'll find that there are a lot of threads about "unnecessary" injuries/vet bills/etc. a broken leg is something that can be prevented, so just play it on the safe side!

Yeah, I decided that for sure that wire wheel is going in the dumpster (next time I remember to take the trash out... hahaha)
I just really hope I can afford a new one soon. Our dog is starting to have seizures again so that means more high vet bills in our near future :(
