I just got into listening to books on tape while commuting to work, any recommendations?

So far I have listen to:

Wicked by Gregory Maguire
Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire
Intensity by Dean Koontz
and I just started Lipstick Jungle by Candace Bushnell

If you have an mp3 player you may want to look into audible.com. Its a huge money saver. I've really enjoyed

Anything by Agatha Christie especially with Hurcule Poirot. Theres a reason she is the top selling fiction writer of all time.

Pride and prejudice and Zombies
Sense and sensibility and Seamonsters

Anything by Terry Prachett

Watership Down by Richard Adams

Ender's Game
Ender's Shadow By Orson Scott Card

Memiors of a Geisha

I adore audio books! So I'll probably think of more later.

It's 4.5 hours to my fiance's so I always listen to books on cd on the way there and the way home. I go to my library and check them out for free. So, if you're buying them, I'd look into your library instead. That way you don't waste your money if the book is horrible.

When I was in high school, I listened to a lot of books on tape while doing math homework (playing with numbers mostly did not require 100% concentration). I listened to a combination of books I'd read in the past, liked, and therefore did not have to pay much attention to in order to follow the story, and a number of classics (I specifically remember Gulliver's Travels, but there were others).

I have a wonderful (cassette) copy of the Christmas Carol narrated by Patrick Stewart if you're looking for actual books on TAPE (as opposed to on CD) you can have if you like (I got it through Freecycle, and now my cassette-playing car is dead, so it needs to find a new home).

Thanks for all the ideas Sarah, I am very interested in Agatha Christie and I will certaintly check out Pride and prejudice and Zombies, Sense and sensibility and Seamonsters as a huge Jane Austen fan, I have to check those out!

I get everything from the library, I love that I can put a book on hold using the online service, then I run in the library grab it under my name, use the express checkout... man I am in and out in 2 mins flat! I love the library!

Wow you must be good at math because for me, I have to be in a cone of silence to think about numbers and even then I suck

Thanks for the offer, but I don't own a tape player anymore just CDs.
