I just got my second FN and I'm going to move at least one chin over tonight. I've begun by removing her wheel to see where it could be placed best, and I'm getting frustrated because it looks like I'm going to have to make a bunch of new shelves in order to fit around the wheel. I have two wheels and each FN is divided in half for 1 chin.

So, before I start redoing shelves, I was wondering:

1. Has anyone found that the cages rattle more/less depending if they are in the top or lower halves?

2. Is it okay to put 2 of them in the same FN or would I be risking a bar snapping?

3. Has anyone found that a certain length of shelves works best in this cage around the chin spins? If that makes sense. Like if you can cut 8 pieces all to the same size and they all fit nicely in one half of the cage?

Thanks in advance!

I have a FN with a saucer at the bottom and the chin spin at the top. Both on the same side even (though that wasn't intentional, that just sort of happened). Even with all that weight on one side... I don't think the cage rattles much, if at all, it's pretty quiet. Never had a bar snap or anything, mine's doing fine in there and I have some nuts runners.

Not sure exactly what you mean about the shelves, hopefully someone else can help you with that...

I don't have a chin spin, but I know that they can be awkward to place. If you skim through the ferret nation club post they have TONS of pictures and you're bound to find one on there and just copy one of their arrangements.

Yeah I ended up putting it in the left corner (on the top half of the new cage) so there's little space at the top and left side. Then I just cut all of my shelves into smaller sections and that seemed to work. I guess I was just wondering if people get their shelves cut to a certain length (specifically for their FN's) when they go get them cut at Lowes or whatever, but I have a saw at home so I just did it without measuring.

Still deciding if I should move my other girl with the wheel into the bottom half, or put her on top in my old FN. Both my girls are just more likely to escape than my boys when I open their cages, so it seems better to have them on the top halves. But then the boy and girl fleece will be mismatched... haha I think I'm spending way too much time thinking about this.
