So I now learned My little Evie is a bar biter and its causing the hair to come off her nose Im trying to get her to play more but she seems bored all she does is lay down at night shes got chew toys and a wheel shes got fresh food hay and water what do I do I hope shes ok. When shes out she explores and runs around.

When it seems my chinnies are getting bored i usually change their toys around and maybe move a few shelves in their cage or move a hammock or tube, it usually works for me :)

What kind of wheel does she have? The wrong type of wheel might make your chin leery of using it.

Why do you think she is bored? Despite humans' attempts at anthropomorphizing other animals, we are not alike in many ways, and one of those is sleep patterns. Most other animals are not awake and active for 16 hours then sleep for 8 (nor should humans according to some scientists). Many animals sleep for 20 hours a day or more and this includes chinchillas. What we may see as laying down bored is the chin just chilling because it wants to.

I have a bar biter but his nose is perfect, no fur loss. He gets plenty of hay, pellets, wood chews and lots of hanging toys, he also has a chin spin in his cage and he uses it often. What kind of cage do you have?

My chinchillas tend to be bar-biters when they want their playtime. Your chinchillas are probably bored. Try to give them plenty of shenanigan time and toys
good luck!
