I was excited to click on Chins and Quills and find this board. So glad they were able to make a connection or I may have never found my way here. I'm Jessie from WI, previously LoveChinchillas, but since we have hedgehogs and chinchillas now, figured I'd use both for my ID.
I have about 15 chinchillas plus a few babies we're still deciding if they will join the herd or if we'll sell. (Probably keep though) We just had the cutest little mosiac, I'm thinking a TOV, but not positive. I'll get pictures of her soon. Since cutting down on the herd size, we haven't had kits since August, except on litter in Dec. Missed the fall shows due the major financial issues, but hoping to make it to "our" show this yr at least, probably won't have any money to travel to any though. Anyhow know when the WI seminar is too??? That's another thing I'd like to make it to.
We also have 2 hedgies now. I rescued Lucy in October from a family who just didn't have time for her anymore, although from what I can tell, besides feeding her crappy food (not that they knew it was just pet store food) she seems wonderfully healthy. Now she's on a good variety of cat foods, soft cat food and mealies, occasionally getting some fruits or veggies and actually eating them sometimes. We also adopted a baby hedgie in December for my oldest for Christmas. Her name is Hedgie. She's a high white pinto and growing like crazy, eating the same foods as Lucy. She just quilled about a month ago, which left her quite cranky, but is better now.
