Baby Chinchilla age?

So I took in a mom and baby chin this weekend. They were dropped off at a vets about a month ago so I know the baby is at least 1 month old. The vets office knew nothing about chins so they could not tell me the age, said she was probably just born when dropped off but she looks older than 1 month. However I have never seen a baby chinchilla so I don't know.

Is there anyway to tell her age by weighing her or anything?

Also it is 6 months before they get a wheel or any playtime right?

She is housed with her mom now, so poor mom won't get a wheel for awhile, I feel bad, lol Of course I doubt she ever had a wheel so probably does not know what she is missing.

I also have no idea the moms age, but I am sure there is no way to tell that either.

No, you're not going to be able to tell the for sure age of either of them. Are you sure the kit is a girl? What is her weight now?
Are you planning on keeping them both? If so, just keep her with mom and mom will eventually wean her herself.

No wheel. No extended playtimes for kit until 6 mo.

Were the parents separated before or after the kit was born? Mom may need to be on pregnancy watch.

Thanks, yes planning on keep both. They told me they were both girls, they had the males and females seperated after the kits were born. So I am watching her weight now for pregnancy.

i will double check for gender too with mom and kit.

ok I tried to weigh the mom and kit but my scale kept fluctuating because they would not sit still. I will try in the morning when they are calmer. But I did check their sex and they both appear to be females.
