So, my dad brought me a stack of Pokemon cards and a stack of Yu-Gi-Oh cards that he has keep since me and my siblings were little?

I haven't a clue about them, and don't know if they are even worth anything.
I checked ebay but people are listing them as rare and what not, and I have no idea what is considered Rare and what isn't.

Anyways, if anyone knows anything about either of these, I'd greatly appreciate the info. :)

generally the holo cards are considered the "rare" cards as well as a couple that are good. As with most card games, the condition of the card will largely determine how much it is worth. My boyfriend has about 4,000 pokemon cards (not exaggerating). I'm also pretty sure that the value has something to do with the number in the lower right hand corner, I believe the lower the number the more valuable it is. Best bet would be to take it to a hobby shop (ask any local nerds they'll probably be able to tell you where one is) and see how much they sell the cards for and ask if they have an approximate appraisal.
I don't know anything about yu-gi-oh, but I know plenty about pokemon (NERD ALERT) so if you have any specific questions I may be able to help. AKA how to best pair up the cards if you want to sell them.

Apparently if the cards have ever been played with no one wants them. lol Something about putting the whole deck together and if the edges are white from being played with they aren't in mint condition. *sounds new to me*

I have about 46 Pokemon cards total. 3 are Trainer? cards, and some Energy? Cards and 46 yugioh cards.

Found a place and thought I was going to be able to get rid of a few. They have a rule that you can only post yours if you post at least 10 that you want.

What?!? Why would I want to get rid of them just to have more? :banghead:

Seems Ebay might be my only option...and a long and complicated one at that.

we went to our local card shop they have yu-gi-oh tournaments there and my husband has about 150 cards. the card shop told him they'd give him $7.25 for all the cards.. one of the cards in the deck is worth that about 10 more are twice that amount. so we are going with Ebay. it's pretty much the only way to actually get the money they are worth.

Alright, I didn't want to admit this, but I can help. I used to collect and sell pokemon cards as a hobby (a loooong time ago) and I also had an ex who was in the serious business of it. So send me your list and I can help you out. I can't tell you what the cards are worth in the current market since I haven't done it in so long, but I can at least tell you which ones are rare (if any). But with a little research, I'm sure I can also help you with some basic pricepoints. Also, if you have been touching the cards, stop! Put them in plastic sleeves. Cards that are no longer mint aren't worth anything.

I have no idea about yugioh cards though, sorry.

These cards have been touched a lot. They were played with by 5 children and the sides of the cards are white (apparently if you put the deck together and the sides are white, they aren't mint condition.)

Well honestly, if they are that used and banged up, it' s not going to be worth much, unless you had a holo, foil, reverse foil, promo, or an extremely rare card, which going through your list, you do not. But just to make sure, you need to check the bottom right hand corner of the card, next to the number in the series. If there is a star there, you have a rarer card, but not necessarily one that is worth something. You'd be lucky if you could sell that deck for a few dollars. Most of those are common cards and not useful in a "professional" game. If you know someone who has kids that still plays pokemon, it might be best just to give it to them for filling up their play deck =)

Well, if anyone has ever wonder...chinchilla people are a lot nicer/friendlier than Yu-Gi-Oh people that's for sure.

I found a forum for Yugioh cards and thought I'd ask them about the cards. So I took a video of the cards that I have that are in a box labeled "Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Magician". I this as a respond...

100% Fake.
Well, that solves it: You have a bunch of counterfeit cards. Question answered. *thread closed*

*clap clap* to them. Thank you for explaining this to me. You Butt Faces.
