I am new to the chin world and was wondering what toys are recommended for chins? Thank you :)

Hello!

There are many things that chinchillas like. :) Chinchillas love to hop, jump, run, and chew. Having some shelves in their cage allows them to hop and jump and play, and also having a chinchilla exercise wheel is very beneficial to them. There are many things they can chew on as well. My chinchillas love vine balls, Chinese finger traps, seagrass rope, pumice stones, and cardboard bagels. Even cardboard boxes and paper towel rolls! As long as their is no printing, adhesive, or tape on them of course! Here is a link to where you can get some great chin toys and supplies:

Check out the vendors on the forum, banners at the top (including the one mentioned) and listed in the classifieds section. You'll get lots of ideas, and the toys you can be sure are chin safe and the prices tend to be a lot cheaper then at pet stores.

Basically though the best toys are chin safe wood. Cardboard is ok so long as your chin doesn't eat it, chewing it is fine, but if swallowed can cause a gut blockage problem.

Definitely check out the banners at the top of the forums here... I get my stuff from chinchillacity.com, and there are a number of great places to order chin stuff that you can find around here.

My girls love these lava rock things:

The bridge is fun too, got it from Fleece for Furries (on facebook)
