Let me start off by saying that I've taken my boy to the vet and he is returning tomorrow for xrays and a mouth evaluation.

But... ever since his last bout of seizures he's been wet - in the whiskers, on his chin, and sometimes on his paws. His energy level has never dropped - he eats, poops, and runs around just as he always does.

The vet's first pass at his teeth said his front ones look great - appropriate color orange and in a good position. He doesn't appear to be in pain (although I know they hide it well) and has no problem with anyone touching under his jaw. There's no swelling on his eyes or watery eyes or foul breath, and he goes nuts for his oats. The vet also said it appears as if what she saw on Sat was old. He always drinks sideways from his bottle so it could be that but this much? I don't think so..

I guess I'm wondering that on the off chance tomorrow its not his molars what else could be causing this? Could it be a result of his seizures?

I'll report back with what the vet finds - any good thoughts and opinions are welcome.

It's possible there's something stuck in his gums. If a piece of hay is stuck it can cause drooling and an abscess. You'll know a lot more once your vet does a complete set of x-rays though.

He may also be playing with his water. Saliva is slimier than water so check to see if it is slimy. Sometimes saliva will hold bubbles in it too. Keep an eye on his water level. You can put a rubber band around the bottle to see how much he is drinking too.

Good luck!

so my vet called and thinks one of his molars are too long and reccomends i take him to adobe.

i called adobe (i already have a visit scheduled for this sat) but they think i should rush him down regardless.

i feel so horrible - i was really afraid of this outcome.

Aw, I'm sorry. Hopefully it's just his molar is growing downward and the roots are not growing upwards. Could you see it in the x-rays?

i just wanted to update everyone that we saw dr. jane at adobe today and she filed down some points in his back teeth. his cheeks and tongue are fine and once he was back in his cage he started to eat.

i'm so glad we caught it, although it doesn't help me from feeling any less bad if he was hurting.

thanks for all the advice!
