Sooo the last few days rufio has been acting kind of strange like when I walk in the room he hides or wen I turn on the lights he hides and sometimes wen I try to touch him he starts barking. Idk wat happened he's been fine before and never did anything like this. His cage is clean with toys and stuff with fresh food and water does anyone have any ideas of wat could be wrong? As many ideas as possible would be great I would really like to try and make him happy again asap thanks :)

Has anything around him changed? Like a new pet? Or new people in the house?

How old is he again?

Have you had him for awhile?

If you haven't, take things slow with your new chinchilla. Try and keep quiet, talk softly and let your chinchilla get used to the new area, smells, and noises. It'll take a bit of time for your chinchilla to get used to you and feel comfortable around you.

If you've had him for quite some time, what has changed? New room, new people, changes in hygiene products, new pets, etc? Whatever is new in his environment is disturbing him.

I've had him for a little over a month now prob and I changed his room like a week or two after I got him he's been in this room for about 3 weeks now and was fine at first. No new petsbut my roomate has been downstairs a lil more often then before so idk if that could be it. Sometimes he is fine and dandy and sometimes he's not so I don't get it...well thanks for those who answered and keep ideas or suggestions comin :) thanks

I don't mean to be rude but has anything scared him. When Oscar was a baby about that age, my little cousin scared him and it took a few weeks to get him to be ok again. Take it slow and start from the beginning. Start be feeding him his fave treat through the cage bars. Then open the door and put a treat on the palm of your hand. Then every time you do it move the treat farther up your arm so he has to hop on your arm to get it. Again take it slow and he will get better. Good Luck!!!

R.I.P Yoshi you will be in our hearts forever

is there anything 'running' (new tv or other electronic things) that wasn't before - Sometime electronic stuff makes a sound that they can hear and a human can't
