Hello everyone!!!

So I'm looking for a new cage for my Baby Sir Stephanie.
Her current cage was originally made for Rabbits and, though it is technically multi-level...I would prefer to get her something she would actually enjoy.

I've been on the prowl for a new cage for quite some time, and I've come across this cage on the petsmart (where I work as a dog trainer) website...and was wondering what y'all HONESTLY thought of it?
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4470996&lmdn=Pet+Type

If you don't like it, and now of something that isn't too expensive and is larger than my current cage (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4470995&clickid=prod_cs).....if you wouldn't mind telling me about it, or even give me a few good websites to check out that won't kill my wallet (I know that's a terrible thing to say but though I work almost every day, I do still go to college, pay for my car and don't get paid too much...so I can't buy some of the really nice Ferrett Nation cages I see and hear about).

Thanks in advance!

You would be a lot better off with a Ferret Nation. That cage does not look sturdy and I am pretty sure even a one level FN has more room. It may be a little bit more money, but it's a much better cage.

Save up a little bit more and let her stay in her present cage. As long as it's chin safe, it won't be so bad until you can save enough for a better cage.

Have you checked out Craigslist or Kijiji? You might be able to get a used cage at a reasonable price.

Members here might have extra cage for sale too, they might be willing to sell it at a cheaper price, just ask around.

Again, it costs quite a lot of money to provide chinchillas a healthy living. Providing a good size cage is just one of the MUSTs, you also have to provide the chin chew toys, good quality pellets and hay, hideaways, beddings, filtered water .............etc. Oh and if you chin is sick, you will have to take him/her to the vet, so all these add up.

I hope you will find what you need, members here are very nice, maybe they can help you out too.

Good luck.

The Ferret Nations here have been on sale. You might shop around locally a bit. You could always get 1 level now which is not much more than the $100 cage you showed. Then later if you had more funds you could get the add-on to make it larger. I found that the smaller petstores here in town were cheaper. I also commute to college and a small petstore there had a 1 level FN for even less than I could get it locally. Now if only I needed another cage.... hmm.. three levels for the girls perhaps?

This is kind of a old thread, but if your still looking for a cage, I just bought a Marshall Mansion from petco for only $150, which isn't to bad of a price. The free shipping was awesome, saved me a lot of money. It's about the size of a Ferret Nation cage.

FN demesions are 25"w, 63"h, 36"l I think, and the marshall is 25"w, 54"h, 37"l. I did spend a extrea $30 some dollars to make wodden shelves for her though, but it was worth it!
