Hey everyone!

I get really worried about my chinchillas developing some sort of illness or malo in the future. I know people take their chins to vets for emergencies, but are you supposed to take them in for annual check-ups as well?

Perhaps annual x-rays to make sure their teeth are ok?

I don't know of many people who take them in except for emergencies or malo treatments. It is stressful, exposes them to germs and other animals and really is a waste of money if there are no symptoms of anything. There are no annual shots or anything, so no reason to involve a vet unless necessary.

Plus they need x rays under gas to check for malo - so unless symptomatic it is an unnecessary risk to take.
