Angry at shelf removal?

My boys have been glaring at me all night. I took their shelves out to scrub them, and they will be sanded tomorrow. My white chin, Terrance, somehow jumped almost to the top of the cage, without shelves.

He is on the righthand side near the top of the cage sitting on one of his toys. I'm trying to figure out how he got up there!

oh yeah, they can get peeved over any little change to their cages! lol. if i put Rhino's log house/tunnel thingy anywhere but in the back right corner of his cage floor, he hops spastically around his cage, glaring at me! :rofl:

and they climb their cage walls with ease! that's how he got up there.

My little guy always got irked when I cleaned the cage. He was like "I just got it how I wanted it. It finally smelled like me... What did you do with my poos?!" I learned to avoid the stink eye by giving him a dust bath right after cleaning the cage. This usually appeased him and he decided I was a decent person again and that he could associate with me.
