Anna
I love my FurBlobs.
Well, normally I house my chins in a FN 142, but for the summer I brought them back to my house in Berkeley, where I have two temporary cages set up, these large Superpet two level things, for temporary use. They haven't been an issue before, I make sure to give the guys a bit more playtime since they are a bit smaller.
Okay. So, for those who haven't used them, the cage part collapses and folds out and locks into place into grippers that are on the edge of the cage pan. They are fastened down by plastic clips. My chinchilla Ralphy, the other night, managed to chew apart the clip, making useless on keeping the folding bars locked in place. He then pulled the edge inward, in the way that edge collapses and slipped out under the edge of the cage wall he had pulled in.
(He normally doesn't chew plastic. It was surprising.)
Luckily I'm a light sleeper and caught him. He is now living in a chin-proofed bathroom so he can't escape. But I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions how to lock this cage wall into place. I need just like, some wire like thing that he can't chew through and it would work.
