Advice from Chin owners?

Hi,

I have been looking into getting a chin. I have done my research and even read two books on chins.
I have a checklist of what I need to get.

Is there any advice any chin owners want to give regarding anything with getting a new chin?

Would you recommend getting a baby or an adult?

My first bit of advice would be - disregard anything you read in those books. Odds are 99.9% of is complete crap.

Read through all of the forums here and the FAQ's. Learn the right way to take care of a chin, their diet requirements (no fruits, no veggies, no junk food), environmental requirements (absolutely have to have air conditioning, etc.). You also need to have a vet fund ready and your parents need to be willing to help with that AND be willing to take your chin to the vet, even when the emergency happens at 1 a.m., which seems to be when they normally happen.

For a first time, young, chin owner I would absolutely recommend an adult.

Rebecca - You need to calm down and stop spam posting the forum. You've asked the exact same question 3 times now and you're getting answers. Give people time and they will answer on ONE thread. There is absolutely no need to ask the same question on 3 separate threads and we don't allow that here. I am going to close this thread now and you need to continue reading and posting to the one that has already gotten several answers.
