I am just wondering, around what times do your chinchillas want to play with you? Burrito becomes active around 11pm.;)

My chinnies are active if I open their cage and want to play with them at any time but on their own they start their day around 6 pm or so. They are up and around off and on during the day as well though, I can hear the bells from their toys ringing lol.

7:00 PM - Lola wakes up
12:00 AM - Lola is a mad woman running too fast for the naked eye to see
8:00 AM - Lola goes to bed

:hilarious:

Hmmm.. I wonder why Burrito wakes up so late.

My guys are up by 6 pm and looking to be let out. I think they sort of adjust to your schedule?

Fuzzy wants well, DEMANDS to be let out by 7 pm. Then we just go around the room and each gets a playtime till it is my bedtime lol!

That might be why, because I'm on summer break I'm up untill around 1ish. So maybe when I start to go to school again she will wake up earlier to play.:)

Marble is up and playful around 4pm but never wants to come out at that time. Usually he'll play for an hour eat drink and then sit like a bowling ball (up on the haunches, with the front paws tucked into the fur, the ears back, and the fur puffed out) until 6pm which is when he is up and active and ready for socializing. He's usually up off and on through the night by 8am he's already hiding in his sleep box.

During the early morning yes but in the afternoon he moves to sleeping on one of the ledges. He completely sprawls out. When he's awake he hides only when he gets spooked but other than that he's always bouncing around. Have you had Burrito long? New chins tend to hide that first month home because they are not used to the new environment. Once they get used to the rhythm of your home they don't hide so much. Marble was very young when I got him and then I have a preschooler running around he's used to the noises we make. He still gets spooked and hides though when he hears something odd or if we have guests. It's totally normal.

I have had her about 3 weeks now. But last week I had to move her out of my bedroom because I was very sick with H1N1 and a chest infection. But now I am better and she is back in my room. That probably threw her off too having to be moved around.

Yeah being moved can be stressful but it isn't the worst. Usually it takes a month of adjusting when they go to a new home. Just take things slow with her unless she's already letting you touch her and is being friendly. Once she totally trusts you she'll greet you when you walk into the room and sit impatiently by the door to be let out. Like my crazy chin.

She likes to jump up on my arms while I tidy up her cage, but if I try to scritch her..she freaks out lol. She will run away and hide in her little cardboard house.

Some of my chins are like that too. They will run up and down my arms but will NOT let me touch them. They are all different that way. Some like to be scritched, others don't. And sometimes it just takes patience and for them to build up some trust with you.
