I only give it when an animal has soft poo that I know is not a bug in the gut....or if the animal is on antibiotics. Other than that I don't bother. My feeling is if the gut and bowels are working well........don't mess with a good thing.
Bene bac paste or an over the counter capsule work fine. Vet will tell you how much bene bac to use. The powder is a dusting on feed or on a bit of shredded wheat. I never measure. Ever so slight dust. About anough to dust a pellet. You can also put a small amount in CC if your hand feeding. The result is to keep a nice poo and consistant bowel movements. If I am giving either of these items I don't use it daily. Use one....wait a day and see the results. If it is persistant then I will give another dose. I do not use both products at the same time. Just pick one that works best for you. I know one chin who likes to eat the bene bac. Thats a plus.
IMPORTANT:
If an animal has a bug in the gut it will not work. A vet visit is required.
