I have things in three corners of the cage, so of course the fourth has become Henry's bathroom area. However, he also goes right in the middle of his cage. I would like to be able to litter train him, but I'm afraid that if I put the litter pan in the corner, he will only go in the middle. And I don't know of anything that I can put in the middle in his way that won't be in my way or that he can't move. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I can do about this?

Also, I use bedding right now, but if I could get him litter trained, I would like to be able to use fleece. But I posted a couple weeks ago about his behavior and was told he is going through puberty and to get a cuddle buddy. So I got him a cuddle cube, which has worked wonders (so thank you for that advice!!), but I'm worried that if he has fleece in his cage he is just going to pull at it and try to bunch it up. Has anyone had experience with that?

My last question is completely unrelated to these two, but I was watching Henry eat today and after he ate a few pellets he jumped on one of his shelves and rubbed his teeth on the wire of his cage. Then he ate some more a couple minutes later and did the same thing. Is this normal? I know that chins can have teeth problems, so I wanted to make sure this wasn't a sign of something.

Thank you all so much!!

Sometimes all it takes is putting in fleece then putting bedding in the liter pan

I've heard that, as well. You can put a little pan in with some bedding and the chins will use that. I had a few chins that insisting on urinating in large ceramic crocks that I would fill with shavings every day. They are very trainable to urinate in one place.

I do that too. I put the soiled bedding into the litter pan and they smell it there, go there, and voila! Occasionally they dribble a little in other places here and there, but it's not too bad.

I'm just gonna ad my 2 cents to the teeth questions, but I'm not an expert.. Just gonna say what I've been through and it could be that or something else.

But yes, chins are prone to teeth problems. They say with not eating, even treats, watery eyes and drooling is a definately sign of teeth problems.

One thing I noticed a few times with my chins, is that when i give rosehips [i have whole ones-my next batch won't be] that bo got a seed caught in between his teeth. I don't know if this happens often to other chins, but when I took bo to the vet last year, he was definately red in one area of the mouth. I think I got it out by giving him a piece of papaya or raisin, now I'm not a sweet giver mind you, just that if someone does get a seed caught, i will give a soft treat to get the seed out and it's always worked for me, and if they still scratch after a few days, it's off the vet.

Now they do sometimes just rub. So is she rubbing more than normal, could something you have given her got caught inbetween her teeth, is she eating her normal amout of food. I can't answer these questions, but they are some questions you need to answer yourself by watching her and then you can ask more questions in here, or go to the vet.

Sorry I can't be more definate with an answer, but again, they are just some problems I have had, could be totally different with your furball. And I'm sure someone else can give you more advice on it. Hope it's nothing serious.
