So I spend all this money to buy a free standing a/c which has worked fine for a few months now. Luckily it is cool again in SB seeing as my stupid a/c hates me right now!!! :realmad:

It'll "spat" out some "cold" air and then die. I paid a few shinny pennies for this thing!!! uggggggggg so I'll have to get another one this month but just had to say how much I hate a/c's right now...at least I had it for the hotter day last week, but luckily it's 60's in SB for the next few weeks...

*sigh*

just had to vent

Bummer- was it new? I would call and complain for sure. How annoying!

I got it a few months back...like a month after the fires in SB at most. But I bought it new and thought that I had a warrenty, but because I cannot find the paper they claim that they cannot help me. I think it's bull too....I mean wth?!? I paid for the warrenty-you took my name and c/c info...aren't I in a computer somewhere!?!? :realmad:

Are you regularly cleaning the filter? I have to shop-vac the filters and inside of my free-standing A/C weekly when I have it running in the summer because of all the dust and fur that gets caught up there and can inhibit its performance.

I thought I was doing well with the upkeep...*sigh*

I can't do too much right now because I'm at work and don't have time to sit on hold for hours...but I'm gonna try and have them refund or something...

Look on your CC purchase record, your CC company should help you pin down some transaction #. Do you have a owners manual for it? I bet you need to clean the filter.

I cleaned it well and all that jazz...it just hates me :cry4:...

But yea I get out of work at 3:30 today so I'll try to sort it out. I mean if I broke it then I will take responsibility for it but I have yet to do anything wrong by it! I read the manual cover to cover and found nada...

 I'm going nuts over this crap.

A few years ago, I had a problem with a used window unit I had. Took it to the nearest auto repair shop and asked them to blow out all the fins - charged me 5 bucks, and it worked good as new, but I did replace the filter, too! Cheap repair!!
