    Litter?

Thanks! I'll grab some wood shavings. My girls will nibble on anything lol. They use litter pans to pee in. Keeps the fleece liners cleaner longer. Theyll occasionally pee outside of them but usually only when they've been extra crazy & moved the litter pans lol

    Litter?

What's everyone use for litter? My girls have fleece lined cage with 2 litter pans. I've been using Carefresh Litter Plus but can't seem to find it anymore. I was going to switch to the regular Carefresh (the brownish one since it's not dyed) but I've seen some people say yes & some say no way...

    Blue Cloud Dust Questions

Glad I wasn't the only one that couldn't figure it out LOL I was looking all afternoon online but kept losing track of how much it really ended up being with shipping at the different places. Then thought about just going to the pet store 😜 Glad I didn't! I'd rather just see the total price...

    Blue Cloud Dust Questions

I'm sure this is on here somewhere, but can't seem to find it. First, is all blue cloud dust the same? I've seen the kind that looks the brand name is blue cloud but I've also seen blue cloud dust made by oxbow, all living things, lixit, etc. Is there a difference? Also, any ideas on...

    General Check up with Vet?

Ok, thanks! There's a vet not too far from me that sees chinchillas & I've heard great things about her. I'm used to dealing with dogs & cats for vet visits so wasn't too sure.

    General Check up with Vet?

Is it recommended to take your chin to the vet for just a general exam? My girls are about 5 months old. Starting to really get used to me handling them. Just wasn't sure if it'd be too stressful on them to take them to strange place. Or if it'd be better to do it now, just in case something...

    Urine stained chin???

Thanks! I was wondering if the dust bath might help. They're due for them this weekend so I'll see how that helps

    Urine stained chin???

I just noticed that my girls (about 4 months old) have urine colored bottoms. It's a pretty wide area around their privates. Is this normal? Anything I can do about it? They're both mosaics so it's pretty easy to tell. My last girl was ebony so I don't know if she was like that too & I just...

    Getting back into chinnies :)

Thanks for all the tips! I'm trying to do things differently (better) this time around with them. Excited but feeling a bit overwhelmed since I decided to wait till I found chins I wanted before buying ANYTHING for them! LOL

    Litter Training for 2

I'm getting 2 females this next Sunday. Both will be 4 months old. I've been thinking about lining the pans of my FN with fleece instead of using bedding. Have been reading about how you should have bedding everywhere to figure out where the chins pee & then move that to the litter pan. My...

    Getting back into chinnies :)

Hi! My name is Rachel. I had chins several years ago (probably close to 10 years) and am getting back into them. I pick up 2 babies (about 4 months old) next Sunday. Both females & ebony mosaic (lady said also called silver mosaics....are they really the same??). Working on (quickly)...
