I don't use a scale as breeding guidline. I have little looking chinchillas that weigh the same as my beastly girl Sassy. If I told you she weighed 700 you wouldn't belive me she is such a beast. Size and weight are apples and oranges

I am happy to report. The Surgery went well. Things will hopefully progress well as well.

Her getting greasy from now dusts is better than the risk of infection from bacteria. The only time I allow a chinchilla a dust bath after an injury is when I am concerend they seem depressed after a fight

Have they tried cisapride? that has more sucess in lower gut stasis

as to the people who say they have a lot of chinchillas...what is a lot? to bigger breeders I only have a small amount...to an average person on the street 3 rodents is a lot. I got the clue I am in my 20's that does narrow it down a bit.

I cleaned cages the day my water broke. And I cleaned them the day I got out of the hospital. It was hard but my hubby has very little to do with the chinchillas. As long as there is no dr restrictions like bed rest it will be fine. It did take about 3 hours to do what I had done in an hour...
