    Importing Angoras??

I don't think I agree, necessarily, with shipping an animal across the ocean twice. It is just plain stressful, and chins can be very sensitive. I myself don't even want to fly across the ocean... hate flying. However, I don't see any reason people in North America shouldn't be able to buy an...

    2014 MCBA National Show

I'm happy to help whomever, although I think Cheryl (Poetrue) has first dibs on me, since she's dragging me to the show!

    Importing Angoras??

I'm not surprised that this is happening and and like Jess, I'm surprised it hadn't happened sooner. People always need to have the new fad. Angoras, BDs, you name it.

Couple of "C" kits I'll be showing this year

These were my kits born in 2013 - so they are "C" kits according to the letter year assigned by the national organization. My kits born since January 1 have been "D" kits. The system is alphabetical, with each year being a different letter (skipping some letters as determined by the national...

    2014 Atlantic Chapter show

Can't wait, this show is super close to me - 2.5 hours - which makes it a really nice one for me to attend. And I'll have animals to show! :)

New Curly Fur Mutation by Ritterspach?

I don't like the look. I like rex rats, but in chins? No thank you. They look matted to me. I'm sure some people really like them, and I'm sure there are pet people who will pay big bucks for them, but I'll stick with what I've got. $1,000 could buy me a few nice standards for breeding.

Muddy Bellies (can I get some pics)

I would not consider that to be a belly worth putting it into the ebony section. I have a TOV violet/ebc male whose belly is similar... A belly like that is easy enough to work with with correct pairing.

Muddy Bellies (can I get some pics)

She was 9 weeks old when I sold her - I contemplated keeping her for my wrap lines but decided against it. Her brother, who is a violet, has a sparkling belly. She was a big girl, but he's got everything going for him aside from size (which is just average, looked tiny beside her)!

Muddy Bellies (can I get some pics)

I have a kit right now out of a violet mother and vc father who has a muddy belly. She's going to a pet home this weekend because of it, which makes me sad, because otherwise she looks like she'll be a nice animal.

Couple of "C" kits I'll be showing this year

Just wanted to share a couple of my "C" kits who will be staying here for show in 2014. The first is a TOV violet/ebc male, born September 22, 2013. He is not very photogenic but his color is superb. The second is my baby, a violet female born October 24, 2013. She looks just like a mini...

Can't wait to see her in person at Nationals, Jess! She's stunning.

    RE: The non producing chinchillas

I have a beige female - gorgeous animal, section champ when shown, only beige in my herd but I'm too darn fond of her to let her go - who produced once with a male in 2011. Then, nothing. Kept her in with the male until earlier this year, when I switched her out to a smaller, faster breeding boy...

Chocolate or a poorly colored ebony?

I've got one right now with a diamond on his forehead and his color is just getting better and better.

    Sapphires ?

Christiane (Saphire) produces some gorgeous sapphires. I'm sure she'd give you some more input if you asked. Everyone has their own way of producing mutations - some like to do carrier to carrier, some prefer to do mute to standard to carrier next generation, etc. Once you've been breeding for...
