Thank you! My husband is a better feeder than I am, lol. He's managed to get about 30 mL in her this morning so far. I'm hoping we can keep her on the CC and then make it more pleasant when our shipments arrive.

What would you recommend? I could barely get 1/4 of a syringe of the CC into her. She just spat it out. This is the first time she's ever had a raisin or goji berry. Normally she gets a rose hip like once a month if that. I think I screwed up. I was trying to feed her and pressed the syringe...

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on Vincenza. They're no contact since 'cenza can be kind of a jerk to other chinchillas (since she was a tiny baby) but your experience is worrying.

We'll pick up another couple bags tomorrow, not sure the one will last that long. Thank you! As a side note, Vincenza is housed in a separate cage but I've read respiratory infections can be very contagious. Have you had it spread from cage to cage like that? I'm also really confused as to how...

My baby Cinnamon has pneumonia. We caught it extremely early (like she was her little bouncy self yesterday) but the vet put her on .28 mL of baytril by mouth. She had an injection last night and we gave the first dose by mouth this morning. She turned down a rose hip but took part of a raisin...

How long do you leave wood things in their cages? Vincenza doesn't chew her ledges or pee on them but I sand them down weekly when I clean her cage. But she's had her house and some of her ledges for 3 years! Do you do a remodel every so often? Or let it go until it's too unsanitary/chewed up?

We use small stainless steel baking pans. I don't know why but it is the only thing Vincenza never chews. And they're easy to clean.

We use stainless steel baking trays for pee dishes. That might work for dust baths too?

Ugh yeah, we were thinking of removing it. I was more interested to see if anyone else had this problem or if there is some way of distracting them. She's stopped for now but I'll keep an eye out if she starts doing it again. She also intermittently chews on the bars of her cage.

She's 3 1/2. She finds new ways to freak us out every day

Man, I just can't find my chinchilla! (Vincenza's started burrowing under her fleece. I'll come home and see a little chinchilla shaped lump moving around)

lol yeah I got interrupted! I was wondering if anyone knew of any health problems that could come of it? Or if theirs did the same. Seriously, she is the reason chin warnings were invented for things.

So my little PITA chinchilla that does everything you get warned about has started chewing her wheel. She has plenty of things to chew on but you know, she loves metal and to make me panic. Poop/drink/food is normal.

Even with an experienced vet, you're still taking a huge risk. Our boy went into stasis for whatever reason after his surgery and died.
