Use pine shelving material that is available at any home improvement center. it is 3/4" thick and available in various widths and lengths. Just try to get pieces with as few knots as passable.

Check a feed store if you have any in the area.

I use these, they are thick but not like dish gloves and hold up well. I get them from my Snap-On tools guy but you should be able to find them any were.

The glass jars are good but the Super Pet bath house is perfectly fine and probably on of the best. There should be no worries with chewing as you don't want to leave it in the cage for longer than 15-20 minuets.

Pine is perfectly fine for chins, when using it for bedding you want to use kiln dried shavings only mainly due to the possibility of respiratory issues in the animals. For ledges, shelfs and houses construction grade pine is OK, in most cases this is dried to less than 15% moisture content...

I have manzanita. I sell it for $5.00 per foot hole or split and sanded for perches. I also have it cut into "chips" 1/4" thick from 1" to 3" diameter for $5.00 per pound.
