Small poops, not eating after 2 weeks on critical care

Thank you for all your replies these last couple weeks, Dawn, you've been very helpful and informative! Unfortunately I believe I remember the vet saying the murmur was aortic, I will double check. Do you think the murmur itself is likely to cause problems later if it is aortic?

Small poops, not eating after 2 weeks on critical care

By the way, on a different but relevant note--regarding his heart murmur. I really want a dental x ray so we can absolutely rule out root elongation or other dental problems, to make sure the problem is that he doesn't want to eat rather than that he can't. However, the vet expressed concern...

Small poops, not eating after 2 weeks on critical care

Hi, my chin recently had a tooth infection and he was put on baytril and flagyl for 17 days. When he was on those meds he stopped eating so we had to handfeed 60 ml critical care daily. The vet now says the infection is gone, so we should wean him off the critical care so he starts eating again...

Will someone please look at this x ray?

Yeah, we can't put him on anesthesia right now because he does have a heart murmur and I'm very anxious to put a chin under while his heart's not in tip top shape. Would get a dental if I could :( thank you for your help.

    Tooth infection

Alright, so I went back in for a follow up. Good news is, the bloat is gone. He has a couple tiny gas bubbles left but overall his GI tract is looking good. Bad news is, the infection's still there. The vet did give me flagyl, to be used with caution. I ordered some lifeline to hopefully...

Will someone please look at this x ray?

Thank you for replying, everyone! The spot I'm worried about is a black area near the lower jawbone, I've just been obsessing over pictures of other xrays online, it might be nothing and I might be hallucinating! The vet said it was nothing...but you know how these exotic vets go. Sometimes they...

Will someone please look at this x ray?

The vet said he has a tooth infection and gas. What I'm worried about are the elongated roots. They sure look elongated to me. How bad is it? :( http://imgur.com/AVOdbeC

    Tooth infection

Has anyone else's chin had a tooth infection/bloat and everything went ok? What did you do? Another vet appt today so I'm going to ask about the flagyl.

    Tooth infection

Update: he's also bloated ): yesterday his poops were incredibly small so I called the vet and she prescribed him reglan along with simethicone drops. He's still very active...but this is so much medication, without much outward improvement, I'm starting to feel hopeless ):

    Tooth infection

I'm not sure of the terminology the vet used, but she did say that the infection was not at the root (I think she said root). She didn't mention pus or anything, either, which I've been reading that tooth infections normally have pus? I don't know, either way, she definitely said something about...

    Tooth infection

Hello, I was hoping to get some opinions on my chinchilla's treatment options. On Saturday, I noticed that he wouldn't eat his rose hip. This was very unusual because he normally devours them, and this time he just put it in his mouth and spat it back out. My vet is closed on weekends, but I...
