    Advice on large lump/tumor

Definitely update when you know more. I'm so sorry your baby is going through ALL this.

    Tearing eyes problem

I thought about using the eye medication too but decided against it since I wasn't sure what was causing the issue.

    Tearing eyes problem

My 9 month old baby has a similar issue on occasion. I thought he had conjunctivitis at first but it was fine 2 days later. His ventilation is great and the only thing I've been able to come up with for mine is that, maybe when he's playing and simulates his dust bath rolls, he leaves his eye...

    Chin unhappy

Ahhhh.... ok. I was just making sure they didn't have those loose fine threads so he wouldn't get them caught and make a hair ring. Which I am totally paranoid about him getting and check constantly.

    Chin unhappy

Stuffed animals also help them from being lonely. They need cuddle buddies to feel like they are still in a group dynamic. Little ones about your chins size made of like fleece (not the fluffy shaggy ones) with nothing they can chew off work great! I found for mine this green dinosaur in the...

    Why a hedgehog?

Just like all animals, it depends on how young and how they were treated before you get them will mainly determine if they are willing to bond. And when they do, oh are hegies adorable 😍. Mine had no issues with being held, would sleep in my lap, followed me around and nibble at my toes to get...

Little Orichiku sittin' on my head. That's all

I don't see why they wouldn't. But I'm weird, I also taught my hamster Zipper to stay on my shoulder. I guess it all depends on how the parents interact with their Chin.

Little Orichiku sittin' on my head. That's all

No oddly enough. Did train to do shoulder, so head was natural progression. He likes to jump on, well, everything. So why should it be off limits to him? Chinchilla logic!

Little Orichiku sittin' on my head. That's all

Around a minute. We've been working on shoulder perching on command and occasionally he hops on my head from my shoulders.

    This is Orichiku!

I am having a problem with dust baths. He will roll and do the dust bath motions on towels, the slate stone, carpet, but not in the dust. It's almost like he needs to see another chinchilla do it to understand that's a thing. I've been putting him in a smaller cage lined with dust and having to...

    This is Orichiku!

It's weird because they aren't albino pink, almost like a mauve with a dark outer ring. And his belly isn't white, he's all one color 😊

    This is Orichiku!

The lady I adopted him from said Tan, but he looks Grey to me. And he has pink eyes.

    This is Orichiku!

He has his cage but the photo was of him during play time, running around my room.

Help! It’s been two months and I still can’t touch my chinchilla.

This is all helpful to know. I got my 1st chin just under 2 months ago. He'll jump all over me, sit on my head, runs up to my feet, but God forbid I try to pet or pick him up! I basically just started sitting on the floor while he's running around and didn't move to start building trust. But to...

    This is Orichiku!

First time Chin mom here. Got my little boy just over a month ago. He was born 5/19/22 and is a little bundle of joy.
