Oh! How about chins can't get fleas? They can't get fleas in their coats (because of how dense they are), but they can get them on their face.

Just a note too, Chichi and Tia do not have that house anymore. That was the house chichi came with and I never should have let them have it. I removed it a long time ago and got new houses for them.

Oh this does sound fun! I don't have any of Chichi as a baby cause she was already a year old when I got her... but I do have her babies, Tribble and Tia. This is Tribble. He was 5 days old in the baby pic. :) This is Tia. She was also 5 days old.

Looks good! You did a great job outfitting the cage! I agree with ljiayi. A good thing to add would be a wooden house at the bottom. Somewhere your chin can feel completely secure.

Yes, that is a really good sign! She loves you! My Tribble likes to groom me like that. I put my head in the cage, he gives me kisses and "grooms" my hair. Which is basically chewing on it a little.. LOL. Sometimes he gets so excited that my hair is around and starts squeaking. It's so cute.

It's normal for them to lose whiskers every once in a while. Nothing to worry about.

I'm so sorry about your beloved Taro. It's hard for other people to really understand unless they have the pet themselves. Taro was your pet and you are going to feel the most loss. Let yourself grieve and give yourself plenty of time. Pets are family and you will grieve them just the same...

There are plenty of safe treats for chinchillas. There shouldn't be a need to give them fruits or anything like that. You don't even need to give treats, as the others said. It's just something nice once in a while. Even then you need to feed sparingly. I only give them twice a week at the most!
